What backpacking boots do you recommend to buy?

I am a fan of backpacking and I need help in choosing for the right pair of boots to buy. I have three choices in mind: Kayland Contact Rev, Merrell Outbound Leather Upper Mid and Mammut Granite GTX. I usually carry heavy loads but want to have the convenience that lighter boots have that allow me to comfortably jump from boulder to boulder. I also prefer my boots warmer so I can use it for winter.

Keep in mind that when buying a pair of boots or any shoes, the most important thing is that if fits and it fits you well.

Now, on with your top three choices:

Merrel is known to make their boots fit perfectly to their customers but one issue with their shoes is waterproofing. It is a great choice if you are going to use it during summer or dry seasons because their shoes have great airflow and are breathable but they are not recommended for winter use of during wet climate.

Mammut gears are durable and a lot of customers are happy with their purchases. This includes the boots. If you happen to find yourself a boot that fits well and meets your criteria, then don’t hesitate to buy it, their products are of high-quality.

We don’t have much knowledge with Kayland boots but after checking them out and researching them, their boots look solid and durable enough to use for backpacking.

In addition, if you are looking for an all-around boot that will serve you all year round try checking out Gor-Tex boots because they are also one of the trusted brands for backpacking boots and they guarantee that their boots provide best waterproofing.

Lastly, if you are looking for boots that works great on ice, be sure to get sturdy boots because crampon compatibility is very important.
